Impressions after NIS conference

23.05.2019

On 9. May 2019., in The Westin Zagreb, we held a conference about the NIS Directive. We welcomed over 100 people from all essential industries, drank more than 20 liters of coffee (mostly people from Infigo who were there at the break of dawn), held five lectures and one round table...

When the dust settled, when we officially got the results from our questionnaire about the conference, we can only say - it was a triumph!

Apart from lectures, which tried to show as clear as possible not only the complexity of NIS Directive, but also the need for it, we familiarized our guests with goals and challenges set by the new directive. Although the conclusion won't be to everyone's liking, since it requires organizations to put serious effort into IT security and additional investments, the European Commission's goal is certainly praiseworthy - to build a unified European market, and to bolster national cyber defenses so every EU citizen could freely enjoy all the benefits of modern life.

Participants of the round table, all representatives from essential industries, agree that NIS Directive - or transposed in Croatian legislation, Regulation on cybersecurity of operators of essential services and digital service providers - is a step in the right direction, and that at the end of the day everybody will benefit from its implementation.
Nevertheless, it is important that every organization starts with implementing requirements set by NIS Directive as soon as possible since we are looking at long-term projects. And evasion of those requirements does bring heavy fines.

Therefore, we encourage you to contacts us at info@infigo.hr if you have any questions, or you are interested in services that INFIGO IS offers, which would be beneficial to your business operations.

In the end we would like to remind anybody who is collecting CPE (Continuing Professional Education) points that our conference is worth a certain number of them, depending on your CPE organization, so don't forget to list them.
