Product info

Snort –standard for IDS systems
SOURCEfire IDS/IPS systems are based on Snort, which has became de facto IDS standard over the years. Along with commercial products, SOURCEfire continues development of the free Snort platform. Snort's 250.000 registered users ensures stable product base and wide user community.

Simplicity (Plug-n-Protect)
Lack of trained professionals is common problem in the ICT industry. At the same time, IT and security administrators are facing constant pressure to protect constantly evolving ICT infrastructure.
SOURCEfire IDS/IPS systems can be implemented in a short time, with minimal changes to the infrastructure, which is ideal to the organizations with limited resources.
On the other hand, advanced features enable experienced users to customize their SOURCEfire IDS/IPS even more and configure it to the finest detail.

SOURCEfire

Powerful and adjustable user interface
SOURCEfire interface enable users to create detailed reports, alerting options and configuration of custom user interfaces. Users can customize their interface by simply moving the elements (widgets) in their web browser.

Protection from all network threats
SOURCEfire Vulnerability Research Team (VRT) continuously releases new signatures fof SOURCEfire IDS/IPS systems.
Up-to-date signatures ensure proactive protection from all network threats from worms, trojans to 0-day vulnerabilities where no vendor patches exist.

Traffic filtering (P2P and IM)
P2P networks and instant messaging applications affects efficiency of the employees, but it can also affect organization's security.
SOURCEfire IDS/IPS can easily restrict or completely ban P2P and IM applications.

Centralized management
In the multi-sensor deployments, specialized SOURCEfire Defense Center (DC) appliance can be used to manage all sensors as well as to collect and analyze all events.
By using single interface, administrator can manually or automatically manage, configure or install signatures to each IDS/IPS device.
Enterprise environments can use Master Defense Center (MDC) technology which is used to manage multiple DC appliacnes and hundreds of IDS/IPS sensors.

Automatic system and user recognition
SOURCEfire patented Real-time Network Awareness (RNA) i Real-time User Awareness (RUA) technologies ensure automatic recognition of operating systems and services deployed across the organization.
By using passive detection of network traffic, SOURCEfire IDS/IPS devices can detect any change in system’s configuration.
RNA technology enables smart alert prioritization so the administrators are alerted only when your system is facing a real threat.

Customized hardware for the most demanding
All SOURCEfire sensors are run on customized hardware and ICSA certified. Appliances are dimensioned by supported network throughput from 5Mbps up to 10Gbps.
SOURCEfire appliances can be also clustered, which enables 20 Gbps inspection and analysis, currently not supported by any other product.
